The 17th leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour heads to the 18-hole Sigona Golf Course on Saturday with over 200 players battling for slots to the tour’s grand finale on December 5.
The top two teams from
the weekend’s action will qualify for the grand finale.
Sigona Golf Club Captain Sammy Mwiti said: “This competition has played an integral role in advancing the growth of the sport. We welcome all golfers to our course, which is in pristine condition. We look forward to a fantastic outing on Saturday.”
The regional series has been to 10 counties in
Kenya, including Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, Laikipia, Nandi, Mombasa, Kisii,
Kiambu, Machakos, and Kericho. Regionally, there have been tournaments in Uganda
and Burundi.
The
four-ball team of Dismas Mokua, Peter Mogendi, Zachary Bichage, and Andrew
Nyanusi won the 16th leg held at the Kisii Golf Course
two weeks ago.
“The KCB East Africa Golf Tour is more than just a sporting
event; it is a platform for regional integration, talent development, and
economic empowerment. As we head to Sigona, we are excited to witness great
competition and camaraderie, and to further entrench golf as a key sport for
social impact across the region,” noted KCB Group Director Marketing and
Communications Rosalind Gichuru.
The 2025 edition has featured over 2,000 players across
the East African region and engaged more than 1,000 juniors in clinics, which run concurrently with the tournament.
The club that produces the winning team during the tour’s grand finale on December 5 will receive a Sh1m cash reward to support a sustainability initiative at their club. In addition, the winning team will be sponsored to participate in a prestigious international tournament.
