Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards have officially reopened the nomination process for key leadership positions ahead of the June 29 elections.

This follows the directive from the Sports Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) on Tuesday, marking a significant moment for the club's passionate fanbase as they embark on a journey towards a credible and transparent electoral process.

"Following a directive issued on 23rd June, 2025, by the SDT regarding the ongoing electoral process, we wish to inform you that the nomination period for those aspiring to vie for the AFC Leopards chairman, secretary general and treasurers posts has been officially reopened," the election management team said in a statement.

Nomination requirements must now be submitted by Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 2:30 PM.

"The new deadline for submission of all the nomination requirements is Wednesday, 25th June 2025 at 2:30 PM," the committee said.

"All aspirants are advised to take note of the following non-refundable revised nomination fees for the respective positions."

Those seeking to vie for chairman will part with Sh150,000, Secretary General (Sh125,000) and Treasurer (Sh125,000).

The funds must be deposited using the KCB Kencom Branch's account name, AFC LEOPARDS SPORTS CLUB, Account No. 1257488481, and the emails [email protected] and [email protected].

The revised nomination fees represent a significant financial commitment, potentially filtering out less serious candidates and ensuring a level of dedication from those vying for leadership.

The specified payment methods, including email confirmation and a designated bank account, aim to enhance transparency and traceability of funds.

A member of the committee said the timeline provides aspiring leaders with a clear opportunity to present their visions and plans for the club.

"It is essential that all interested candidates take this opportunity seriously, as it represents not only a chance for personal growth but also a commitment to the community that supports them," she said.
