Kenya Police Bullets' head coach Beldine Odemba has promised to beef up the squad ahead of the Cecafa Championships later in the year.

"We hope to reinforce our playing unit. This includes getting a new goalkeeper, several defenders, a midfield and at least two attackers,” Odemba stated.

“We have started talking to possible reinforcements and some of them may join us this week as we prepare for the FKF Cup third-place play-offs."

The winner of the Cecafa Championships will take part in the Caf Champions League to be held in Cote d’Ivoire later in the year.

However, she is worried the addition of new faces could derail their ambitions since it may take time for them to grasp his style of play.

It could also mean the departure of players who delivered in the previous season or omission of the new additions at a crucial point.

"When you acquire new players, it becomes a challenge since some may get disgruntled for lack of playing time," she said

Meanwhile, midfielder Yasmin Khalid is burning the midnight oil in hunt for a slot in the Police team to the Cecafa qualifiers and, eventually, the Champions League.

"I've talked to the coach (about my ambitions). I'm willing to work extra hard to earn a spot in the Bullets squad for the Cecafa Zone qualifiers,” Khalid said on Citizen TV.

“I hope to get the chance to represent Kenya Police since it will grant me exposure and an opportunity to improve at a personal level."

Khalid joined the law enforcers at the start of last season and made her competitive debut against Wadadia on October 28.
