National women's hockey team ranked second in Africa by FIH

The blades amassed 943.73 points according to International Hockey Federation.

The Kenya Women's National Hockey Team is ranked second in  Africa according to the latest rankings released by the International Hockey Federation FIH as of November 5, 2023.

The blades amassed a total of 943.73 points, 472 points behind top-ranked South Africa which boasts  1416.59 points.

Kenya is 30th globally, 10 places below South Africa which is 20th.

The Blades managed a bronze medal in the just concluded African Hockey Road to 2024 Paris Olympic qualifiers.

Nigeria, Ghana, and Egypt are third, fourth and fifth respectively with a points tally of 859.36, 815.74 and 670.

Zimbabwe (60th), Namibia (66th), Zambia (75th) and Uganda (77th), close the top 80 ranked teams in the world.

The Netherlands, Australia and Argentina are first, second and third globally respectively.

Despite playing the last match on August 26, the Netherlands have recorded 3422.40 points.

Australia which plays in the Oceania hockey federation garnered a total 0f  2817.73 points while third-placed Argentina enjoying dominance in the Pan American hockey federation, clinched 2766.90 points.

 In the men's category, Kenya ranks fourth continentally and 57th globally.

South Africa, Egypt and Ghana are the top three teams on the continent.

The Netherlands, Belgium and India form the top three globally.
