University of Eldoret Pipers post mixed results in KHF league

University of Eldoret Pipers beat Wakanda 30-19 in a Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) league match at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday. 

The visiting varsity side led 14-9 at half-time and had seven goals a piece from Alphan Ndege and Kelvin Rotich. Mubarak Ismael shot eight and Xaxiour Omasaja six for the losers.

"Consistent training has led to improvement in our results," offered UoE captain Derrick Chesoni.

"More wins have improved the team's confidence and the change of tactics is also working well. We appreciate our technical team for this." 

They, however, lost their second game of the day, going down 26-21 to unbeaten Equity Bank who had Brian Murangiri and Kevin Obuga to thank for providing five goals each. 

 The bankers, who are eyeing a crown in their debut, took a 15-11 advantage at halftime. UOE Rotich managed to secure nine goals.

Black Mamba beat  Trans Nzoia 29-25. Morgan Juma had eight goals and Bethwell Juma six for the winners. Ibrahim Nyongesa shot. seven and Kelvin Wasike six for the losers. 

Hunters and Wakanda shared the spoils in a 33-33 draw. Fred Masinde managed seven goals for Hunters and Edward Wanyonyi replied with eight.  

The hunters recovered superbly after trailing 22-16 at the break of this evenly-contested encounter.
