Western Jaguars coach Mike Malungu has rallied his charges to use the home-ground advantage to return to winning ways when they take on Greensharks in a Kenya Hockey Union Premier League match in Kakamega on Saturday.

Jaguars blew away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Sailors last weekend, to end the team's five-match winning streak.

"It was a pity that we dropped vital points in our last match despite controlling the match for longer periods," Malungu said.

Table-toping Jaguars lead the standings with 17 points from seven matches, without tasting defeat. Their other blot was a 2-2 draw against defending champions Butali Warriors in the season opener.

"We need consistency to stand a chance of challenging for the title. The team needs to embark on another good run. We know Greensharks aren't pushovers despite their struggles," Malungu added.

Greensharks are yet to win in six attempts. Four losses and two draws put the team at ninth on the log.

"We are the favourites playing in Kakamega. We must maximise on that. We want to make the Eregi Teachers Training College grounds a tough place for opponents," Malungu pointed out.

Jaguars welcome back Edison Ndombi, who has been sidelined for three weeks. Charles Ashihundiu is suspended for the match while Borris Katasi is a long-term absentee through injury

Elsewhere, tail-enders Kenya College of Accountancy University will be gunning for their first win of the season when they tackle United States International University USIU-A Mashujaa in a varsity derby.

KCA-U have drawn twice and lost as many matches while eighth-placed Mashujaa have won and drawn one match apiece with two losses to their name. Ruaraka-based KCA-U will also settle scores with Sailors.

In the women's cadre, Kisumu-based Lakers, currently fourth on the log, will move to second place should they register home wins against Sailors and Wolverines.
