Kenya Pipeline middle blocker Trizah Atuka reckons that her impressive performance in Tunisia in the recently concluded Africa Club Women's Volleyball Championships was down to high fitness levels.

The towering athlete was feted as the best middle blocker and named to the dream team after helping the oil merchants to a runners-up position.

Atuka has had to battle injuries in her decorated career and a return to full fitness is a timely boost to her prospects of making the national women's team, Malkia Strikers squad ahead of a tight schedule between June and September.

"For me, it's been a journey especially coming from an injury that denied me the chance to showcase my talent. I feel better now. It has been a journey full of hard work, prayer and determination as well as overcoming setbacks," she said.

"The injury I believe is over but what drove me was not trying to prove a point but rather the passion and love for the game. Given a chance, I will do my best," she added
