Defending Africa club champions KCB have exited the tournament after a 3-2 loss against Algeria's Mouloudua club in the round of 16 of the on-going tournament in Tunisia.
The bankers, who won the title last year following a 3-1 victory against Egypt's Al Ahli, lost in a five-set thriller of 25-22, 25-27, 20-25, 25-16 and 15-13.
The Kenya Volleyball Federation league runner-up will play in the position 5-8 playoffs.
Mouloudia got off to a good start by winning the opening set 25-22.
The Ruaraka-based side KCB, bounced back in the second set to make it 1-1 in a score of 27-25.
KCB maximised on their height advantage to bag the third set 25-20 to make it 2-1.
Mouloudia won the fourth set after improving on blocks and services.
The North Africans had the last laugh in the decider. They silenced the bankers 15-13 to carry the day.
Munala said KCB lost the match due to poor reception: "The girls played their hearts out but ball reception became our undoing".
