Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has offered to host the Jubilee party’s National Delegates Convention (NDC), in case they lack a venue.
This is after a letter allegedly from the Bomas of Kenya dated May 12, 2023, denied the party space to hold their NDC.
“I want to host Jubilee NDC in Waruku if Bomas is denying them the venue,” Alai said on Wednesday.
In the letter seen by the Star, Bomas declined the party's requests to host their delegates citing ongoing renovations.
"Our main Auditorium, whose capacity is 2,000 pax, has been scheduled for renovation works from 16th May 2023 for eight (8) weeks," the statement addressed to acting executive director Polycarp Hinga reads.
The letter added that the other spaces within Bomas are also fully booked for the coming days.
"In view of the foregoing, we are regrettably unable to host you for your NDC on 22nd May 2023."
The Kileleshwa MCA further suggested that ‘men in black’ should protect the Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta-led party from grabbers.
“So Kanini Kega is the one stressing a whole former President? Does augury understand political operations? Men In Black must take over to protect Jubilee from grabbers,” Alai added.
Leadership wrangles have rocked the former ruling party since early this year.
In February, at least 32 Jubilee MPs met President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua at State House.
The Jubilee legislators pledged to work and support President Ruto's led government.
This was despite Jubilee being a member of the Azimio la Umoja One coalition which is led by opposition chief Raila Odinga.
What followed next was a purported ouster of Jubilee secretary-general Jeremiah Kioni by a faction of members led by EALA MP Kanini Kega.
The two sides have since engaged in power wrangles.
In a notice dated April 4, Uhuru summoned Jubilee delegates for a special NDC on May 22 at the Bomas of Kenya which has been cancelled by Kega.
