All roads led to the Parklands Sports Club for the final Squash Racket Association of Kenya activity of the year, national team coach Prince Mukuka Junior has said.
Mukuka said the event, set for December 7, will comprise eight teams four.
The teams expected include Races of Nicks, Racket Breakers, the Chokoras, Drop and Roll, Nairobi Nicks, Deadly Droppers, the Craftsmen, And Hot Steppers.
He said the series has been a success even as they register progress in some of the players.
“After the leagues, we will advance to the international stage," Mukuka said.
He said they have experiencing challenges since players have to train separately, only to team up during competitions.
Mukuka said they want to intensify their activities in a moved aimed at ensuring they bridge the gap on a ten-year lull due to wrangles at the national governing body.
“This league will help develop strong team spirit and introduce more members into the squash community,” he said.
Mukuka revealed transition has not been an easy task for the players and the association.
Meanwhile, Mukuka has bemoaned lack of sponsors which has delayed their vision.
Elsewhere, federation president Gakuo Ndirangu said they are keen on developing junior players.
“We want to develop a resilient junior team that will represent us in the junior’s international tournaments alongside their experienced counterparts,” Ndirangu said.
He also revealed that they are set to conduct elections next year as they seek to incorporate more members at the federation.
