Kenya Police head coach, Patrick Mugambi, has hinted at maintaining his squad for their Kenya Hockey Union men's Premier League match against Western Jaguars at City Park Stadium on Sunday.

Mugambi said the players who started against Butali Warriors in their two-all draw last weekend will be retained in the starting lineup in order to build rhythm and a seamless understanding among the playing unit.

"There's no need to tinker with the squad. The whole team was excellent against Butali even after going down 2-0, they soldiered on and rescued a point," Mugambi said.

Police, who finished third in the 2019 season, beat Wazalendo 3-0 in their opening match.

In other matches, Jaguars will play Sailors on Saturday, a day before they meet Police. Mugambi said Police have no advantage over their rivals since the game is all about fitness.

"We have no edge over Jaguars. I believe they have trained and will be match ready considering these are their first two matches of the season," Mugambi added.

Defending champions Butali will hope to return to winning ways when they take on Parkroad Badgers.

The Constant Wakhura-captained side let a 2-0 lead slip against Police, conceding twice in the last six minutes from the penalty spot.

Badgers fell 3-1 to Greensharks in their last assignment and the newbies face a stern test against Butali side that has a fearsome attack.

Spartans, who have won and drawn one match apiece to occupy second place on the log, entertain Amira Sailors.

Sailors have shared spoils in their last two matches where they posted barren draws against Wolverines and Sliders and need some attacking magic to overcome Spartans' backline.

In the men's Super League, Parkroad Tigers have a date with Wazalendo Masters. Kenyatta University settle scores with Mvita while Sikh Union welcome Kisumu Youngsters at their Dashmesh stadium.
