Gor Mahia head coach, Manuel Pinto has parted ways with the football club.

In a statement by the club, the Kenya Federation Premier League champions coach left the club on mutual consent.

"Coach Manuel Vaz Pinto has parted ways with the club on mutual consent. We appreciate your work and wish you all the best Pinto," the club said in a tweet on Saturday.

Pinto's exit comes about six months after he joined the club.

The Portuguese tactician is said to have left the country on Thursday, just days after he led the club to clinching the Betway Cup, in a match that saw them battle it out with their arch-rivals, AFC Leopards.

It is understood that the club has been facing financial constrains for a while.

It still remains unclear why Pinto left.

On Thursday, Gor Mahia lost 2-1 to Tusker FC further dimming their chances of winning the Premier League title.

Pinto had promised to lead his charges in retaining their Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League title after the side lifted the Betway Cup.
