Kenya Sevens Oscar Denis hospitalised following accident

Kenya Sevens Oscar Dennis is recuperating in hospital following a hit-and-run accident on Tuesday.

In a tweet, Kenya Rugby Union said: "We would like to confirm that Kenya Sevens player Oscar Dennis sustained leg injuries after being hit by an unidentified motorist while riding his bike in Nairobi on Tuesday evening. He is undergoing treatment and we wish him a speedy and full recovery," added KRU.

Sources said Dennis was on his bike at the junction of Bogani Road and Quarry Lane in Karen, Nairobi when he was hit by a car. 

Dennis had just returned to the country from Bermuda, where he helped SFX10 franchise to the World-10-a-side tournament alongside Shujaa skipper Andrew Amonde, top try scorer Collins Injera, Oscar Ouma and Willy Ambaka.

He was on Wednesday named among the 29 players for the Kenya Sevens training squad for the 2021 World Sevens Series and 2020 Olympic Games slated for next year.
