The music fraternity and fans of Junior Kotestes are in shock after the death of the Rift Valley icon. Junior Kotestes passed on Wednesday morning after he was admitted to Tenwek hospital complaining of “breathing difficulties”.
The MCSK regional director of Rift Valley, Bernard Mukaisi told Word Is, “This is a big blow to the music industry and especially in Rift Valley. We are all in shock at the loss of this larger-than-life personality and very talented star.”
Mukaisi added, “Junior Kotestes passed away at 10pm after he was admitted with breathing difficulty. He had been sickly and had a problem breathing. At the time the family did not know it was that serious, because last month he was headlining Kitwek Night at the Carnivore. It is a sudden development that has shocked us.”
Last year a time like this, an excited Junior Kotestes received a cheque of Sh 463,884 from MCSK Chairman Michael Maganzo; royalties for the broadcasting category. Junior Kotestes is famed for hit songs like Selele, Twolyot, Cheptugeniot, Kiptogostayat and Augustine en Kabande.
