The suspect of murder of a 24 year old Josephine Karimi who her body was found dubbed in a septic pit in Kiaragana St Mary's Catholic Women Association Centre in Runyenjes will spend 14 more days behind bars.
This is after Nassir Omar the officer investigating the matter requested the Runyenjes magistrate Sharon Aoko for more days to complete investigation into the matter.
Nassir requested the court to further detain the suspect who is believed to have been using the phone of the deceased which led to his arrest on Monday.
Upon his request he attributed the postmortem report among the major considerations analysis from the government chemist and mental health investigations of the suspect.
Other pending evaluations according to Nassir include, Data retrieval from the Safaricom network and crucial statement report from witnesses.
Boniface Yakulula was arrested after he was found possessing the phone of Josephine Karimi who was reported mysteriously missing on Saturday.
According to report Yakulula was an employee at the St Mary's Catholic Women Association Centre farm as a groundman and Josephine was a newly employed secretary at the facility.
While confirming the incident on Monday Embu East Police Commander Antony Maina said the case was reported on Saturday when they launched investigations.
He said the investigation led to arrest of Yakulula who directed the sleuths to the scene.
"On Saturday, we received report of a missing person who after investigations led to arrest of the suspect," he said.
Maina said the body of the deceased was found inside a septic pit within the farm and was taken to Gakwegori mortuary in Embu.
"We were able to follow up the matter until the suspected led us to the pit where we retrieved the body of Josephine Karimi," he added.
Simon Kivuti, the deceased father, said his daughter left their home on Wednesday 28 last month after a day's visit from her new place of work.
He said upon leaving her home in Kivue back to Kiaragana, they never heard of their daughter ever since.
Kivuti said it's after police investigations when he learnt of her daughter death and whereabouts of her lifeless body.
He praised her daughter as well mannered and a humble daughter who related well with everyone.
