Before he commenced his preaching, he asked people to see him as a pastor and not the singer they know.
"God always takes us away from where he found us. By the Grace of God, we will reach there. The battle is not easy," he said.
Sammy said the devil had been trying to fight him and his family for a long time.
"In my family, there was nobody who went to school, nobody who had driven a car. I asked God to break that curse and that is when I started seeing the goodness of God."
Sammy Irungu’s naughty photos and videos in a woman’s house trended online a few weeks ago.
Irungu was exposed by controversial and faceless Kikuyu blogger Martha Hinga.
Before exposing Sammy Irungu, Hinga had also exposed Kikuyu gospel artiste Mary Lincoln by releasing her intimate photos and videos of her in a lover’s house.
During the preaching, Irungu told Mary Lincoln to pray to God and ask for their blessings.
"Your knees are your weapon."
In 2019, Irungu was again involved in another controversy with a church, when he refused to refund their money after he failed to show up at a paid gig.
In a leaked audio, Irungu had a heated exchange of words with a pastor's wife, who was asking him why he failed to turn up for a church event the previous day despite being paid Sh15,000.
He said he was away in Dubai and that he missed his return flight ahead of the church performance.
When asked to refund the money, he then told her that Sh15,000 is 'for buying snacks' and that he is a high-flying artiste, who bags hundreds of thousands of shillings in a single performance.
As such, he said, she should give him peace and stop pestering him with endless phone calls over 'pesa ya snacks'.
Irungu later apologised to his fans.
