Bongo Flavour artiste Ucho Gun has explained why he stopped working with WCB signee Lavalava.

Speaking to Word Is on his recent Nairobi visit, Ucho said he needed to grow and face new challenges.

"Lavalava is not promoting me as much as I wanted, and so I started pushing myself. He made me famous through working with him and I appreciate."

Ucho is currently promoting his Tarapiana music, which is a mix of Taraab music and Amapiano.

He said his fans are accepting his music."I also do afrobeat and bongo flavour."

Tarapiano has been well received and I am working on an EP that will feature even Kenyan artistes," he said.

He urged East African artistes to push their music to go international.
