A few days ago, award-winning actress Lupita Nyongo shared a video of how she trained for her role in 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'.

In the clip on her Instagram, Lupita used weights to walk and slide in the water.

She says she was not a perfect swimmer before they shot 'Wakanda Forever'.

Speaking in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Lupita said she had to get comfortable with water as she did not have the skills.

"I did swimming training and I also went further and did extreme performance training, where you walk with weights underwater," she said.

She learnt how to use dumbbells to swim in less than two weeks.

"When I saw someone doing it, I was like I cannot do this. It helped with my breathing and I found comfort in the water," she said.

Lupita said one needs to be very calm in water for them to succeed.

"I never thought I would act underwater," she said.

'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' stars Lupita, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Florence Kasumba, Martin Freeman and Michaela Coel.

Previously, she talked about her experience swimming underwater along with co-star Angela Bassett in another interview.

"Before we started this film, I knew how to swim, but I wasn't a confident swimmer," she said.

"I didn't need to swim in public, that's for sure. That's a lifelong skill that I now have."
