Gospel couple DJ Mo and his wife Size 8 have started building their retirement home in one of the upcoming royal suburbs near the Nairobi Central Business District.

This comes a few months after the couple gifted Mo's parents with a fully furnished three bedroomed home.

Speaking to Word Is, DJ Mo said this will be a gift for their many years of hustle with a customised retirement home.

"The land cost us around Sh8m, and the house we are building will be a six-bedroom with a prayer room, home theatre and a studio," he said.

The couple will partner with artspace arc-tech and Rhombus concrete.

"God has been so faithful to us and that is why one room, we are dedicating to him," Mo said.

"Just the same way we will have a movie theatre. Size 8 said she wants a prayer room, for her, and anyone in the family who wants to pray, or even when she has a visitor and they want to pray."

His parent's home cost over Sh6 million.

Size 8 now said it was her idea that Mo builds his parents and grandmother a house first before building their own home.

"It would not have looked good for us to be living in a good house while the parents were living poorly," she said.

DJ Mo said his parent's house took eight months to complete.

"There is the standard I really wanted," he said.

"It was a gift to just say thank you for raising me up. I'm from a very humble background, that’s why small wins mean a lot to me."

He said the reason they speak about their wins is to encourage others but not to brag.

"We only show what will inspire people," he said.

"We don’t post for flossing, we post to encourage others that it’s possible no matter where you have come from."

The couple says they are trusting God for more commercial properties like a mall in their near future.
