R&B artiste Gregory Jizzo has admitted to have lived two lives when he was still a gospel musician.

Jizzo, who has just released a video to his Mainswitch-produced song, Iyee, says his life in salvation and as a gospel artiste was marred by controversies, until he decided to immerse himself into the secular music world.

“I started my music career as a gospel artiste, but I was living a double life. It was all but pretense. I always pretended to live according to the Christian teachings, but I was not. I used to drink alcohol, run after girls and it felt like a betrayal to God. That's why I finally decided to quit gospel and concentrate on singing about women, about love. My gospel music did nothing to elevate me as an artiste to be looked upon. I walked to my producer and told him I was fed up and left,” he says.

He adds: “Even after working with several record stables including Jomino and Ogopa, nothing much was heard from me. It was from that realisation that I had to change my style. I was doing rap but it was not bringing out more of me. I settled for R&B because I wanted to send my message as clearly as I could.”

According to him, he is now a mature artiste whose music sends sober message of love. Jizzo said he has a lot in store for his fans.
