Corporate photography and videography refer to professional photo and video services for businesses and corporations.

This type of photography and videography is typically used for marketing, advertising, and public relations purposes. It is also designed to enhance a company's brand image and messaging.

Corporate photography can include headshots of employees, group photos of teams and departments, photos of office spaces and facilities, and images of products and services.

Corporate videography can include promotional videos, product demonstrations, training videos, and company overviews.

In an interview with The Star, Kevin Mbeva, a seasoned professional corporate videographer and photographer had this to say:

“On starting, approach companies confidently and inquire whether they would need your services.

Once you have undertaken this crucial step, proceed to make an agreement with them concerning the services you would provide, be it weekly, monthly, yearly, or on-call.” He noted

“During this time price yourself appropriately, do not overprice or underprice your work. When it comes to delivery, one has to do the very best. So make sure you are well-skilled in terms of camera handling, postprocessing, and shooting skills.”

He further emphasised that creativity is highly needed in this type of photography. Since the photos and videos of a company aim to communicate a certain message to a particular audience.

He then highlighted the benefits of this profession,

“One of the perks of this profession is flexibility, I personally do corporate photography for two to three companies a month. As a freelance photographer, I have the freedom to set my own schedule and work when it's most convenient for me. This means I take time off when  needed

He further highlighted the perk of steady workflow, saying most of the time there is a constant stream of work.

“A major advantage of this profession is networking. One can meet with business owners, executives, and other professionals, which can lead to new clients and referrals or even lifetime clients.”He said

He then proceeded to add that, Corporate photography projects tend to be higher-paying than other types of photography, this can provide a photographer with a lucrative income and the ability to invest in their equipment and skills.

“Lastly, it is important as a creative to have discipline, commitment, and exceptional social skills if you want to grow your business or art,” Kevin Mbeva said.
