Billionaire gifts YouTube couple Wode Maya, Miss Trudy apartments

It was a day of numerous blessings for popular YouTube couple Berthold Ackorn popularly known as Wode Maya and Gertrude Awino known as Miss Trudy when they held their wedding in Yala, Siaya County on September 10, 2022.

The renowned couple was blessed with two apartments as wedding gifts from Mwale City investor Julius Mwale.

In a video shared by the couple on Youtube, the couple says they received wedding gifts from their fans and supporters including Leah Wambui, a real estate developer in Athi River who bought the couple their wedding ring.

"We spent only $1000 on our wedding but God brought people who helped us with everything else," said Awino.

She met her spouse Maya, a Ghanaian, three years ago during a YouTube assignment in Ethiopia.

Wode Maya is the largest Youtuber in Ghana and commands over one million subscribers on Youtube.

Miss Trudy has more than 300,000 subscribers on Youtube.

Their channels are popular for highlighting positive African stories.

The wedding reception was held at Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC).

MMTC is a $ 2 billion metropolis in Butere owned by tycoon Mwale and it is domiciled near Awino's Yala rural home.

In the video, Mwale is seen giving Wode Maya the tour of the 2 bedroom apartment at Mwale City and gifting it to him as a wedding gift.

Another one-bedroom was handed to Miss Trudy.

Mwale, known for his generosity,  has built rental apartments for locals within MMTC to rent to workers within the City which is anchored by a 5,000-bed Hamptons hospital.
