Makini Awards celebrates prison service

Event showcased it as a correctional service of excellence in Africa

Nafisika Trust, in collaboration with Kenya Prisons, on Friday held the Makini Awards to showcase achievements of the prison service as a correctional service of excellence in Africa.

The event took place at Nairobi West Prison Officers’ Mess, Nairobi. 

The award categories are in line with the vision and mission of the prison service; “to contain offenders in humane safe conditions in order to facilitate responsive administration of justice, rehabilitation, social integration and community protection”.

 

During the event, the various prison institutions were awarded and celebrated for their efforts in upholding the prison service vision and mission.
