Girls from informal settlements on Sunday celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child in South B.

Area MCA Waithera Chege hosted them, with the focus being on gender-based violence.

The day is celebrated worldwide to focus attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights.
