Charity dinner with UK's Dame Evelyn Glennie

Scottish born Dame Evelyn Glennie is the first person in musical history to successfully create and sustain a full-time career as a solo percussionist.

Her career highlight was when she won a Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance in 1989. Glennie, became deaf at 12, thus she is passionate about children like herself.

She is involved with is the Able Child UK Charity which has partnered with Little Rock ECD Centre in Kibera, Nairobi. Dame Glennie was at the Panafric Hotel in Nairobi on Nairobi to host a charity dinner to raise awareness of children disability.

The dinner was also to raise funds for the Little Rock Inclusive centre in which is aimed to give early childhood care in Kibera, Nairobi. The dinner was attended by staff of the centre led by director Lilly Ogare and other guests.
