For centuries, ginger root has been used as a remedy for illnesses like colds and stomach problems.

The rhizome, more commonly known as the root, has been called a superfood time and again.

Ginger and honey work together to relieve sore throat, cough and cold symptoms.

You can add lemon to your ginger for that extra boost.

Nonetheless, this drink should be taken occasionally and not on a daily basis.

This is because lemon is acidic and excessive use could lead to increased acidity levels in the stomach.

It should be taken in regulation to avoid hyperacidity or ulcers that could develop as a result of overusing the drink.
