Homemade coleslaw recipe with nuts

Coleslaw is the simplest salad to make.

The dish is originally from the Netherlands. In fact, the name is borrowed from the Dutch expression koosla.

Koosla means cabbage salad because shredded cabbage is the main ingredient.

Nuts add that extra crunch! Let's do this.

Ingredients

• 4 Cups shredded cabbage
• 1 cup shredded carrots
• ½ cup sliced onion
• 1 tbsp. lemon juice
• 1 ½ tbsp apple cider vinegar
• ¼ tsp. salt
• Peanuts/ cashew nuts
• Black pepper to taste
• ½ cup mayonnaise
• 2 tbsp. sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Whisk mayonnaise, sugar, lemon juice, vinegar, pepper and salt together in a bowl until smooth and creamy

Step 2

Pour in the grated cabbage and carrots

Step 3

(Optional) Refrigerate overnight

Enjoy with fried chicken or sandwich
