Before taking the stage, Melissa Fleming described the award-winning singer and songwriter as one of Africa's leading voices and a global talent inspiring millions with her voice and message.

The artist's performance started with her 2019 song "Keys to the Kingdom," which features her fellow Nigerian singer Mr Eazi, a cover of Bob Marley's "Wait in Vain", followed by her 2023 hit song "Somebody's Son", and then closed the performance with her 2025 song "You4Me."

In addition to Tiwa's performance being a highlight moment, the UN Chamber Music Society, an ensemble, was also among the key performers at the UN80.

The ensemble performed "Anthem for the United Nations", a piece by Pablo Casals, "Baba Yetu", by Christopher Tin, and "Madiba," by Wouter Kellerman.

With music seen as a bridge, bringing people together across cultures, borders, and across generations, this performance by Tiwa Savage continues to cement the artist's dominance in the global music scene.

The UN80 Commemoration was a special occasion marking the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, eight decades of serving the globe.

The key individuals involved in the commemoration included the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed,  the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock, and the Under-Secretary-General for Policy, Guy Ryder.

"You are the living proof that the world changes - not just through declarations, but through dedication. Through courage. Through the quiet, persistent work of people who refuse to give up. This evening - through film, music, and stories - we will witness that truth," the secretary-general remarked at the UN80 Commemoration.
