Richie Spice to perform in Kisumu on May 28, Nyong'o confirms

Jamaican reggae artist Richell Bonner better known as Richie Spice is slated to perform in Kisumu on May 28, Governor Anyang' Nyong'o has confirmed.

A poster advertising the event posted on Twitter by the county boss indicates that the dancehall artist will have a live performance at the Mamboleo Show Grounds.

"It's coming home! Get ready for May 28th for a mega live performance by Richie Spice at the Mamboleo ASK Grounds," Nyong'o said.

The concert has been sponsored by the Kisumu County Government and Ziva Empire.

Spice confirmed his tour of Kenya three weeks ago via Instagram saying he would be performing at the Goods Vibes Festival at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) grounds on May 27.

"May 27, Nairobi Kenya I’ll be coming you way get your ticket’s now bless!" 

The acclaimed dancehall artist, a member of the Rastafari movement, has dozens of songs to his name.

Among his most popular songs include 'Earth a Run Red', 'Brown Skin', 'Grooving' My Girl', 'Marijuana' and 'King and Queen.'

Spice hails from a musical family where two of his siblings; Spanner Banner and Pliers of the famous Chaka Demus and Pliers duo have also made a name for themselves. 

His other brothers Glenroy Bonner and Jah Mikes have also had a try in music but are not as famous as Spice, Banner and Pliers.

This will not be the first time Spice will be performing in Kenya.

In 2017, he performed during the Dobba Festival alongside fellow Jamaican stars Etana and Luciano.

Spice made a return two years later in 2019 and performed at the 'Nobody Can Stop Reggae' concert.
