Colonel Mustapha opens up about his viral 'mjengo' video

The rapper said that it is not a music video as is alleged.

Rapper-turned-actor Colonel Mustapha has broken his silence hours after a video of him working in a mjengo leaked online.

In an exclusive interview with Mpasho, Mustapha confirmed that the video is authentic and he had fallen on hard times and opted to take up construction jobs.

The rapper told Mpasho that it is not a music video as is alleged.

"When you are working there are a lot of issues, kunakuwanga na beef pia na stori mingi kwa mjengo, so maybe labda kuna mtu alileak,"..

"Hi maze ni blunder, ni blunder," he tells us about whoever leaked the video. 

"After that information nimeshindwa hata kutembea, kwani huwezi jitafutia, sasa itakuwa aje? Na siko vizuri ivo, mambo ni ngumu bana," he said .

"There is something I was doing I can't talk a lot about it, but ni shughuli nimekuwa nikifanya for the past one year "

"But sasa kuna msee tu hapo I think alifanya hivo (leak the video) so I didn't even know usiku ndio nilipata information vile nimerudi"

Mustapha described his life as having been difficult for a while. "Things zimekuwa difficult hapo nyumba, after things zimekuwa ngumu kusema ukweli, kumekuwa kunoma mtu wangu," he shared briefly.

He told that he will speak up some more about his difficult journey much later.

He has shared this with a friend "Unajua mafriends nimekuwa nawaambia, hawaskii" he continued adding he wasn't landing any gigs leading to financial strife.

"Last time to perform was I think last year April so kumekuwa kunoma mtu wangu," he admitted. 

He took up construction jobs to support himself rather than ask for public help. 

"Hiyo kazi ni ngumu, inabidi saa zingine at least hata nimejaribu sana hiyo one year, kama ningekluwa nimeomba kwa phone wangekuwa wame screenshot," he stated.

Mustapha also confessed that his mother is ailing and her medical needs are expensive. She is undergoing chemotherapy.

"Hii kitu she has had it for 8 months. It's crazy, myself imekuwa noma,"
