Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has given out his take on having a successful marriage.

Speaking during an interview on a podcast, the MP also gave some of the tips to look out for in a partner.

Babu said the challenges one goes through can also determine if they have the right partner as this will tell how supportive they are.

"Good women come from God. A beautiful woman comes from God. A handsome man comes from the bank. All in all, the moment we will appreciate the importance of a partner is when there are challenges and if your partner is by your side always, supporting you and being strong by your side as they pray for you. Then that is the right person in your life," he said.

The Embakasi East lawmaker further said marriage should be an exclusive partnership with the exclusion of outsiders.

He said God should be the only third party invited to the union.

"Kama huezi mvalue, ama kumtrust why did you marry that person? The most important thing is how do you relate with your partner? Are you compatible? Do you communicate, date or rise above petty issues? "he posed.

The MP urged men to look for partners whom they are also ready to appreciate.

Babu added that they should be responsible, especially to partners who bear children for them as it is a great commitment.

"Somebody amekubali amekupatia watoto, huyo ni somebody who wants to spend time with you and spend their life with you. So hii maneno ya kuleta story nyingi ni story ya jaba. The moment you have a proper wife, you set a pace," he said.

The MP is married to Fridah Muthoni Ongili who is an entrepreneur behind a popular fashion brand.
