Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has declared his support for United Democratic Alliance candidate Gichunge Kabeabea for the Tigania East MP seat.
Kabeabea promised to work with Kiraitu for the interests of the people.
“Thank you so much Governor Kiraitu. I promise to work with you. For Peter Munya you are a man of integrity, a development-oriented leader, lets's make Tigania East great,” Kabeabea said on his Twitter account.
“I will use kind and wealth in supporting Kabeabea. I take responsibility as Meru leader to campaign against EALA MP Mpuru Aburi,” Kiraitu said.
Mpuru, however, said he has the right to campaign for any candidate.
Munya, Mpuru and Kiraitu are campaigning for Azimio la Umoja presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga but Munya urged residents to choose a governor of their choice.
“I remain a staunch supporter of Kawira Mwangaza for the governor seat,” Mpuru said at Muthara on Tuesday.
