A Makueni-based lawyer was Wednesday night rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital after he was injured by a policewoman.

The police officer was also injured. She said the man attempted to rape her.

According to police report from Makueni police station, a fight started after the lawyer invited the police officer to his house.

The report further says the lawyer had invited the officer so he could  introduce her to his fiancée but an argument ensued. This ended in injuries for both the lawyer and the policewoman.

“The lawyer advanced to her and grabbed her hand and started forcing her to the bedroom. This prompted the officer to grab a panga and cut him on both hands before she managed to escape,” reads the report at Makueni police station.

The police officer sustained bite injuries in her right ear, both hands and fingers.

She was rescued by police officers from angry residents who had locked her inside the building. She was taken to Makueni police station and later to Makueni County Referral Hospital where she was treated and discharged.

The lawyer was treated at a private facility and later transferred to Makueni County Referral Hospital before he was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital for specialised treatment.

Police officers visited the scene where they recovered a panga that was used in the 7pm incident.

“There were blood stains in the sitting room and the walls of the victim’s house,” the police report says.
