Kenya Kwanza and Azimio leaders have settled on Bomas of Kenya as the venue for the much-anticipated talks, Leader of Majority in National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah has announced.

The dialogue team will hold its first joint meeting on Wednesday Ichung’wah, the Kenya Kwanza team leader requested for a new date.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who is the opposition’s lead negotiator, had proposed Monday.

Speaking in the presence of President William Ruto in Nyeri, Ichung'wah said they had agreed on the Bomas of Kenya as the venue for their inaugural meeting.

He said this followed discussions with Kalonzo.

“Today morning, I spoke with former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and we agreed that the venue for our meeting will be at the Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday,” he said.

Azimio leader Raila Odinga has insisted that the dialogue between Azimio and Kenya Kwanza, which aim to end the 2022 post-election crisis, must end by October 30, 2023.

Ichung’wah said the meeting must be held in the glare of cameras to prevent Azimio from giving any personal demands.

He said they are ready to engage on the basis of mutual respect.

"Not with threat, not with blackmail. You must not blackmail us that if we don't do what you want, you will go back to the streets. If you want to go back nendeni mtapambana na wenye mtapatana huko," he said.

Bomas of Kenya is home to one of the largest auditoriums in Africa.

It is located in the south of Nairobi and has an enviable meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions facility in a quiet and serene setting.
