In today’s society people don’t just ‘hustle’, they have multiple side hustles and are frequently fearful of slowing down for fear of missing the next opportunity. Problem is that this viewpoint is often detrimental to our mental health.
If you’re always occupied, you might be denying your mental health the attention it requires. When you lack time to relax and unwind, your mind becomes overloaded resulting in anxiety, melancholy and other mental health issues.
Our attention duration is a limited asset. Studies show that to learn effectively, breaks are mandatory. Even brief breathers permit our brains to integrate and organise.
Leisure time allows us to re-energise, recharge and even gain new perspectives upon resuming our regular activities.
There is life outside of jobs and schoolwork. A wonderful way to pass time is to be with family and loved ones. Be it catching up with a friend, spending time with family or simply taking a vacation, being around those you care about reduces stress and improves one’s mood.
Take rest. People are constantly journeying in today’s environment. Our bodies and minds get worn out.
For better physical and mental health, as well as happier moods, it is crucial to set aside time for rest.
Above all, utilising leisure time wisely decreases chances of being idle as idleness as it is the beginning of all vices.
