In Summary

  • He has failed the leadership test so spectacularly there does not seem to be any more reason why he should be considered fit to occupy the esteemed office of governor.
  • He might have been socialised in the era of ethnic hate. But that is the abhorrent past every right-thinking citizen will have confined to the dustbin.

Governor Mutahi Kahiga, at face value, would ordinarily pass off as an intelligent teacher of many years and a man you can trust to say the right thing at the right time.

It’s easy to imagine that he is old enough, even if not sharp enough, to understand empathy.

But it is now apparent that deep down in his heart, he harbours opinions that are not only outright primitive, but so deeply repugnant and shocking as to be expected of an adult, let alone a governor.

His mindless remarks are the type of stuff intelligent children in playground banter would not entertain, let alone have the courage to utter.

He has failed the leadership test so spectacularly there does not seem to be any more reason why he should be considered fit to occupy the esteemed office of governor.

He might have been socialised in the era of ethnic hate. But that is the abhorrent past every right-thinking citizen will have confined to the dustbin.

It boggles the mind how, in his befuddled mind, the death of Raila Odinga would be a blessing to his ethnic enclave.

Kahiga is such a disgrace to the people of Nyeri that the only avenue left for him to pursue is to quit office in shame by falling on his sword.
