In Summary

  • MPs have proposed that independent candidates in a general election, be they MCA, senators, MP, woman reps or governors, be paid a yet-to-be-determined sum, if they garner five per cent of the vote.
  • This selfish and impulsive idea must be shelved. Our politicians look at citizens and see a bunch of stupid slaves.

Our politicians never listen. Our politicians live in a world of make-believe.

The Kenya they live in is far removed from the Kenya of the poor and long-suffering citizens whose sweat and pain they leech on like bloodsuckers.

Our politicians falsely believe they lead fools whose views are either irrelevant, unnecessary or at best ought to be ignored.

One year ago, the Gen Z protests had one common and unequivocal message—no room for wastage.

The protests would lead to the abolition of budgets for the First Lady and the Second Lady.

But in a bizarre and bewildering turn of events, it emerges that MPs have proposed that independent candidates in a general election, be they MCA, senators, MP, woman reps or governors, be paid a yet-to-be-determined sum, if they garner five per cent of the vote.

This selfish and impulsive idea must be shelved. Our politicians look at citizens and see a bunch of stupid slaves.

This proposal flies in the face of the political parties fund. The fund was meant to strengthen multiparty democracy, not destroy and water it down.

This is an attempt to encourage people who have no chance of winning to run for office and make free cash.
