Israel has waged war against Hamas for almost a year. At first, their revenge attacks made sense.
The plan
was to cut Hamas to size. But one thing remained clear—defeating Hamas or
eliminating it was out of the question. Israel seems to have achieved their goal
after a horrifying massacre of 40,000 people.
But the
Israelis, sure the administration of Joe Biden will always back them
politically, economically and militarily, have opened a new war front with
Hezbollah in Lebanon. As a result, the likelihood of a third world war looms
ever so close.
Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has taken Israel to the brink. The tensions in the
Middle East are at breaking point after Iranian leaders unleashed a barrage of
missiles into Tel Aviv, on Tuesday, as a
warning that the war must stop.
Within
hours of Iran getting into the fray, twin explosions occurred near the embassy
of Israel in Copenhagen, Denmark, and seven people were shot and killed by two
gunmen inside Israel.
Violence
begets violence. The peace in the Middle East will only come through dialogue.
Netanyahu must realise that peace talks will deliver the peace his country
craves. Bombs and tanks will only delay the prospects.
