Former US President Barack Obama and his spouse Michelle have celebrated their wedding anniversary with
messages of endearment to each other.
Taking to their social media
platforms as is their norm during birthdays and anniversary celebrations, they
expressed their love and appreciation to each other.
Barack and Michelle Obama got
married on October 3, 1992.
Obama posted a photo of him with Michelle at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. They were hugging while posing in front of Alvin Ailey dance poster, smiling.
The
couple kept things low-key in the photo, with Michelle wearing a matching coat
and pants in a tie-dye pattern and Barack in gray slacks and a coach's jacket.
'"Happy anniversary
Michelle! 32 years together and I couldn't have asked for a better partner and
friend to go through life with," the former US President said.
Reposting the photo, Michelle
said, "32 action-packed years with my honey! Through it all, thank you for
always having my back, being by my side and finding ways to make me smile. I
love you Barack Obama".
Fans on their part congratulated them for the achievement.
An X user wrote, "May your anniversary be as remarkable and filled
with joy as the love story you continue to write every day. Wishing you both
more years of happiness, love and adventures together. With heartfelt
congratulations".
“What a beautiful tribute!
Celebrating 32 action-packed years is truly special. Your love and support for
each other shine through. Here’s to many more joyful moments together,” another
X user commented.
The couple's first date was to
Spike Lee's movie Do the Right Thing (1989).
Barack Obama has often said they
had an "opposites attract" scenario in their initial interest in each
other since Michelle had stability from her two-parent home while he was
"adventurous".
The couple have been blessed with two daughters, Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23.
