The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has held a phone conversation with the outgoing Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba after he tendered his resignation.

Blinken thanked Kuleba for his principled leadership in implementing Ukraine's foreign policy.

The Secretary of State noted that even as he is leaving, the US remains committed to continue supporting the country against aggression from Russia.

"Today, I spoke with Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba to thank him for his principled leadership of Ukraine’s foreign policy.

"The United States will continue our enduring support to Ukraine in the face of Russia’s brutal aggression," Blinken said on X.

Kuleba on his part appreciated Blinken for his unwavering support for Ukraine since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war.

He described Blinken as an 'impeccable diplomat' who has led key decision-making aimed at strengthening Ukraine.

Kuleba noted that over time, they have grown to become close friends and he is grateful for that.

"I was pleased to receive a call from @SecBlinken. I thanked Secretary Blinken for his ironclad support for Ukraine since the onset of Russia’s full-scale aggression. An impeccable diplomat, he has been at the forefront of many groundbreaking decisions, most notably those aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defence.

"I am grateful for the years of collaboration that grew into a close friendship. The strategic partnership between Ukraine and the US is crucial for maintaining stability in the Euro-Atlantic area and the future of democratic Ukraine," the Ukraine Foreign minister said.

Over the last few days, Kuleba alongside other ministers and key leaders in President Volodymyr Zelensky's administration have tendered their resignations.

The resignations were confirmed by the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The resignations now await approval by the plenary sessions.
