The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has now launched a website to document and track its diplomacy efforts and progress during the full-scale invasion by Russia.
According to Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine's diplomatic teams had to make adjustments to the way they operated and this has changed the diplomatic game for the country that faces aggression from Russia.
“The fire of war has burned every Ukrainian region, almost every home, almost every family. But this fire has also burned bridges in the past. For diplomats, it means that our vocabulary no longer has the word impossible,” Kuleba said.
“Since February 2022, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's diplomatic team has been working in a special mode of wartime diplomacy — exhausting and risky, bold but thoughtful, all while changing the rules of the diplomatic game."
He said the website will among other things provide a review of what Ukrainian diplomats have done in the last two years of the war, to strengthen the country.
This will also be in terms of efforts to encourage international support and open new opportunities for the country and her citizens, as well as business.
It also documents the efforts by President Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska’s efforts seek support for the outside world, as well as other senior Ukrainian government officials.
Despite the war, Ukraine has been able to widen its diplomatic presence and encourage investments in terms of development in the country.
“Despite all difficulties, Ukraine, together with partners, created a global coalition in support of its resistance against Russian aggression, mobilized and continues to mobilize an unprecedented scale of military support from partners, confidently advances toward EU accession, maintains global food security, strengthens the sanctions pressure and isolation of the aggressor-state, and fights for justice.”
As of February 2024, Ukraine has representation in 92 embassies across the world. This includes 69 ambassadors and 36 representative offices and consulates.
