Police have arrested a woman said to be part of a transnational organised crime cartel with narcotic drugs suspected to heroine. 

The suspect was arrested in Mombasa on Sunday with a sack of narcotic drugs with a street value of Sh3,540,000.

"The Suspect was apprehended by Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) detectives based in Mombasa and Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) detectives based in Malindi," the DCI said in a statement.

Police said the security personnel arrested the suspect while acting on intelligence leads that the suspect was carrying a brown carrier bag with the suspected narcotic drugs.

The suspect will be arraigned as search for other players in the cartel continues, police said.
