A Canada based Kisii political activist, Cyrus Ogega on Tuesday fought back claims that he was orchestrating a vicious cyber war against Governor Simba Arati.

The activist now accuses some MCAs of abdicating their roles to defend the executive excesses, instead of doing oversight.

"They (MCA's) have stopped being engaged in their rightful duties and are now defending a system that is refusing to be accountable to its people," Ogega said.

The activist was reacting after some MCA's singled him out on Monday at a governor's event for censure over attacks on Arati.

On Tuesday, Ogega accused the assembly members of engaging in drama at the expense of development.

During the governor's event, the MCAs led by John Ombati (Riana) accused Ogega of abusing the county boss in various social media forums.

They told the activist to steer clear off the county boss and stop the endless cyber attacks.

They went further to ask Bomachoge residents where the activist hails from to reign in on their son.

Governor Arati who was in the same function, however said he will not be cowed nor be distracted by the ilk of Ogega's attacks.

He said he has already weathered so many storms in life and the online propaganda was least of his concerns.

In a rejoinder, Ogega has described the attacks by the MCAs and the governor as primitive and lacking merit.

He said no amount of defence by the MCAs is going to save the governor's face and should instead begin to play their role properly.

Ogega said politics is good but not to the extent where some elected leaders get misused to defend failed leadership.

"No ward rep is worth his name if he is used to sing praises of the wanton excesses of the executive. Can't we have people who stand for dignity in politics," he said.

Ogega described the attacks from the leaders as uncalled for and lacking in political maturity.

"These ward reps were invited to a birthday party, how they turned it into a forum to attack me instead of enjoying the cake defies plain logic," Ogega told journalists during a zoom call.

He further accused the governor of failing to back rhetoric with action on issues development.

"The governor should begin explaining what he has done to mwananchi since he entered office close to three months now, not fighting staff left right and center," Ogega said.

He said his criticism was largely based on tangible facts and not on propaganda and told the governor and his henchmen to meet in court.

"There are agencies he should report to not sending ward reps to fight me in funerals," Ogega said.

"If my criticism is based on rumours and gossip it should be scrutinised against what is on the ground."
