Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang'ula has rallied Kenyans to vote for President William Ruto in the 2027 polls.

Wetang'ula said President Ruto deserves another term because of his development record.

The speaker said the Kenya Kwanza government under the stewardship of Ruto has made great milestones since he took over the mantle of leadership two years ago.

Speaking at a Church Service in Igembe North, Meru County, Wetang'ula assured residents of the government’s commitment to fulfill campaign promises.

These, he said, include finding solutions to the unemployment question that continues to put the administration at loggerheads with its citizens.

"Therefore, I urged the people of Meru to offer unwavering support for President Ruto’s Administration since he deserves a second term based on his development record," the Speaker said.

Wetang'ula said Ruto has streamlined operations in the education sector among many other achievements.

He said President Ruto’s administration has employed 76,000 teachers and the new budget has an allocation to employ an additional 24,000 teachers, bringing the total to 100,000 teachers which is the highest since independence.

Leaders allied to the President have been coming out to assure Kenyans that they will support him to get a second term in 2027.

This follows criticism from opposition leaders who have vowed to ensure the President serves one term.

On Thursday, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale said Ruto is guaranteed a second term in office. The CS said that the ruling coalition has the numbers to deliver a landslide victory in 2027.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Wednesday, Duale expressed confidence that the President’s re-election is not in doubt.

He argued that the Kenya Kwanza administration will win based on its development record.

“William Ruto will come back with a landslide… inshallah, his second term is guaranteed,” Duale said.

“He will be voted, not because of anything else, but because he will deliver on his promises.”
