Kenya Wildlife Service Veterinary officers on Wednesday captured an adult elephant in Tana River.
Through a post on Facebook, they said the elephant had taken refuge in Kitere Village.
They noted that they captured the animal with the support from the Mara Elephant Project.
"The elephant had become a local attraction, feeding in the forest near the village and venturing out when villagers tilled their lands," KWS said.
They further said in the evenings, it would leave the forest to quench its thirst at a school, maintaining a solitary nature and harming no one.
"The elephant was captured and safely relocated to Tsavo West National Park, highlighting the power of partnerships and community involvement in wildlife conservation," they said.
