List of activities lined up for Mama Rachel Ruto in US visit

The First Lady of the United States Jill Biden is set to host her Kenyan counterpart Rachel Ruto Thursday.

In a program seen by The Star, the first session, scheduled to start in the morning, will see Jill and Rachel visit the Advanced Technical Center, where they will engage with high school students and instructors involved in nursing and cybersecurity career pathways programs.

 "This event will highlight investments in career-connected learning programs by the Biden-Harris administration, which are transforming the high school experience and unlocking new pathways to career opportunities for students," the White House said.

The White  House said the event demonstrates the shared commitment of the two first ladies to advancing educational opportunities and empowering youth to succeed.

The two will also visit the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center where they will join a Biden Cancer Moonshot listening session on cancer screenings and the patient navigation efforts of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center.

This sitting will highlight the mutual interests shared by Jill and Rachel in advocating for cancer prevention and providing support to cancer patients and their families.

In her visit to Kenya on February 24, 2023, Jill Biden and Mama Rachel focused on the women's economic empowerment programs.

During the visit, the Joyful Women Program table banking model, which operates under Mama Doing Good Organization was discussed and she also attended the Shujaaz Konnect Festival.

Jill Biden toured Kenya in February 2023 as First Lady and in 2010 and 2011 as Second Lady.
