Police in Migori County are holding three suspects linked to the death of a 42-year-old businesswoman.
The woman was killed at Chamgiwadu trading centre in Rongo Subcounty on May 4, 2024, police said.
Rongo Subcounty Police Commander Salim Fundi said the three suspects are helping with the probe into the murder.
He added they are looking for more suspects over the incident.
The body of Elizabeth Anyango was found lying in a pool of blood inside the bed by the relatives who had gone to check on her on Sunday.
Police said the body had stab wounds around the neck, an indication that she was murdered.
The woman stayed alone at the time of the murder, police said. The motive of the murder is yet to be made public.
Police were called to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
The killing of the businesswoman comes days after a watchman was also killed in Rongo town at night and assorted school items stolen from Rongo Primary School in the same area.
Police say they have increased night patrols in the whole Subcounty and more so in areas where cases of insecurity have been reported.
Fundi appealed to the public to work closely with the security officers to curb cases of insecurity in the area.
In Nakuru County, police are investigating a possible murder in an incident where a man died in hospital after he was involved in a fight with his girlfriend in Molo.
Kelvin Otieno Musa, 25 succumbed to injuries in hospital on Monday evening a day after he and his girlfriend had fought.
Police say they were informed the deceased and his girlfriend had fought on May 12 at their house in Mutiritha area.
The two were rushed to Molo Subcounty hospital and were admitted in a serious condition.
The following day the man succumbed to the injuries, police said.
Police said they had established the deceased had stab wounds on the lower right chest.
The body was moved to the hospital mortuary-awaiting postmortem.
The woman was later arrested over the murder. She was produced in court where police were allowed to detain her for a week to complete their investigations into murder.
