The body of late Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla has arrived at the Senator Obama K'Ogello Primary School in Siaya where the funeral service is being held.
The hearse, a black Mercedes with transparent windows, carrying the casket was received at the venue at exactly 11:13 am by senior military officers.
It left Kisumu Airport by road at around 9:15 am escorted by police and military vehicles.
It was flown into the Airport by a military plane.
Ogolla’s body has been lying at Mashujaa Funeral Home at the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital in Nairobi since Thursday evening.
Various leaders including President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua have arrived for the service that is set to be concluded at 14:00hrs as per the program issued by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).
The service will be conducted by the military.
Moments after arrival, it was removed and placed in a caisson pulled by senior military men escorted by the clergy.
