President William Ruto is set to depart the country for a three-day State Visit to Ghana.

This will be his first visit to Ghana since he took over the presidency in September 2022.

Ruto and his host Nana Akufo-Addo are set to witness the signing of bilateral agreements in areas of shared interests, including trade and investment, education and research, public service, and capacity building.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi is already in the country ahead of the visit.

Tree planting campaign

Environment Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya and his Education counterpart Ezekiel Machogu are set to address a joint press briefing on the education sector's contribution to the 15 billion national tree-growing program.

The government targets to grow 335 million trees (22.3% of the 15bn target), by 2032.

The Ministry of Education is a critical player in the delivery of the climate action initiative that seeks to raise the country's tree cover to 30 per cent.

The presser is planned for State House Primary School.

Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome to visit Baringo

Inspector General Japhet Koome is expected in Baringo for the inspection of an ongoing campaign against banditry.

Border management meeting

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kindiki Kithure is expected at the first National Border Management Conference.

The event will be held at the Kempinski Hotel, Nairobi from 8:30 am.

The theme of the meeting is "Building on Coordination and Moving Towards Integration’ promises insightful discussions on strengthening our collaboration."

The event is being hosted by the Border Management Secretariat (BMS) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

KNCCI business report

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) to launch its Quarterly Business Barometer report.

The report, informed by a survey, provides a forecast of Kenya's business environment and private sector performance.

The survey gathered the expectations of businesses for Q2 2024, drawing insights from their Q1 2024 experiences on revenue, workforce, expansion plans, cost of primary inputs, and challenges.
