Public service, performance and delivery management CS Moses Kuria now says that he stands with Jacque Maribe—his friend for the last 16 years after controversy surrounding her appointment to the Public Service ministry.

In a statement on Friday, Kuria said he would stand with her despite what he termed as "unjustified bullying."

The CS said that just like he stood with Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza during her impeachment attempts by the County Assembly of Meru.

"Meanwhile I stand with Jacque Maribe, my friend for the last 16 years and I will stand with her just like I stood with Gov Kawira Mwangaza in the wake of unjustified bullying," Kuria said.

During a second attempt at impeaching Mwangaza, CS Kuria was the only high-profile leader from the Mt Kenya region that backed her. He was also very vocal about his position on the impeachment.

His remarks come a day after the Public Service Service (PSC) refuted claims it had employed former Royal Media Services journalist Jacque Maribe.

Maribe is currently working as the head of communication in the Ministry of Public Service headed by Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.

In a press release issued Thursday, the Commission disowned the appointment clarifying it had no involvement in the recruitment to the position.

"For the record, the said position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise," the statement attributed to Commission chair Anthony Muchiri read.

Her appointment to the role came in the wake of her acquittal in Monica Kimani's murder case which had been going on for almost six years.

The statement by PSC followed media reports that claimed CS Kuria had confirmed the appointment.

“Kuria is quoted to have said that "it is true except that I am not the one who appointed her but the Public Service Commission,” it adds.

Speaking last Sunday days after assuming the job, Maribe attributed her success to being truthful adding that "God is revealing himself in her new appointment".

"The truth, which always sets us all free, has worked and I thank God for everything. Let us wait and see if the hand of God is revealing itself in my new appointment," Maribe told Nation.
